On Monday, June 15, 2026, 5-year-old Mohammad Ahmed Masood was playing with friends in his building’s parking area when he stepped onto a rusted metal cover over a septic tank.

The cover, which was in a dilapidated state, gave way instantly, causing the child to fall inside.

Though locals rushed to save him and transported him to a private hospital, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
