The Ratlam Mystery: Bride Falls to Death While Escaping Just 5 Days After Wedding

A shocking incident from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, has left locals stunned and raised serious questions about marriage broker scams. Just five days after her wedding, a 23-year-old newlywed bride tragically fell to her death while attempting to escape her husband's home in the middle of the night.

Key Highlights of the Incident:

  • The Marriage: On July 26, 23-year-old Sandhya Chaudhary from Rohtas, Bihar, was married to 45-year-old Mukesh Chauhan, a welder from Ratlam.

  • The Transaction: The husband claims the marriage was facilitated by local marriage brokers, to whom he paid a hefty sum of ₹2,60,000 to find a bride.

  • The Escape Attempt: On the night of July 30, Sandhya attempted to flee the house by scaling down from the second-floor window using an old rope.

  • The Fatal Fall: After descending about 10 feet, the rope suddenly snapped. Sandhya plummeted nearly 25 feet to the ground. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

  • The Investigation: The Ratlam police have launched a comprehensive investigation. They are not only probing the exact circumstances of her death but are also actively investigating the marriage brokers to determine if this was the work of a 'Luteri Dulhan' (robber bride) gang attempting to scam the groom.

Was she a victim of human trafficking trying to escape, or part of a calculated robbery gone wrong? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and stay tuned to VYGR News for further updates on this developing story.
