Tragic Accident at Pooth Kalan: 60-Year-Old Woman Loses Life to DTC Bus

The streets of Delhi witnessed another fatal tragedy when a 60-year-old woman died after being run over by a DTC cluster bus near the Pooth Kalan bus stand on Kanjhawala Road.

• The Victim: The deceased has been identified as Indira, a 60-year-old resident of Sultanpuri who worked as a home nurse and caretaker.

• The Mishap: Information regarding the accident was received by the Sultanpuri police station at around 11:05 am. Police found the victim unconscious near the rear wheel of a DTC cluster bus that was operating on Route 114A.

• Hospitalization: She was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Mangolpuri, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

• Public Outrage: The victim's death sparked massive outrage among family members and local residents, who staged a protest, temporarily blocked the road, and hurled stones at the bus, shattering its window panes.

• Police Action: The bus driver, identified as Rajesh, was taken into custody, and the vehicle was seized. A case of rash and negligent driving causing death has been registered against him, while separate legal proceedings have been initiated against those involved in vandalizing the bus.
