BJP leader Pema Khandu took oath as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for the third consecutive term on Thursday. Chowna Mein was also sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister. The ceremony was attended by Union ministers Amit Shah and JP Nadda, who had arrived in Itanagar the previous day to mark the occasion. Here are some visuals from the event:
Commitment to Development
Khandu, who first became Chief Minister in 2016, expressed his gratitude for being unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh. He thanked his fellow BJP MLAs, MPs, party leaders, and workers for their efforts in securing a decisive victory in the elections.
"I am grateful to our fellow BJP MLAs for placing their faith in me. I also put on record my sincere thanks to our MPs, party leaders, and workers for working day in and day out to ensure a resounding win in the polls. Now, let's work together harder to further speed up the pace of all-round growth in Arunachal Pradesh and realize the goal of inclusive Viksit Bharat by 2047," Khandu stated in a post on X.
He emphasized the BJP's commitment to peace, progress, and prosperity in the state, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of development-oriented governance.
Election Success
In the recent assembly elections, the BJP secured 46 out of 60 seats in Arunachal Pradesh, held concurrently with the Lok Sabha elections. Due to ten ruling BJP candidates, including Khandu, winning unopposed, polling took place in only 50 constituencies.
Khandu's leadership aims to continue fostering development and progress in Arunachal Pradesh as the state moves towards a prosperous future.
