The illicit enterprise emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic and has reportedly distributed over 2,000 fake degrees and marksheets in the market, fetching prices ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 2.20 lakhs. Shockingly, individuals holding these falsified credentials have secured jobs within India and abroad.

Meherolia, the primary operator, revealed during interrogation that he had been operating the institute since 2020. He employed several tele-callers who would contact prospective students, gather their information, and forward it to him.

Operating via WhatsApp, Meherolia enticed students with promising degrees without the necessary documentation. He orchestrated the creation of marksheets for these individuals, charging anywhere from Rs 20,000 to Rs 2 lakhs for certificates spanning from 10th standard to PhD levels. The documents were then couriered to the clients, complete with fabricated holograms.
