Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow, is currently battling severe weather conditions, with continuous rainfall for over 35 hours causing massive waterlogging and bringing the city to a standstill.

The relentless downpour has escalated the situation beyond normal monsoon showers, significantly increasing the risk of urban flooding. In response to the crisis, local authorities have issued a high alert across several districts in UP, including Lucknow.

Residents have been strongly advised to avoid low-lying areas, stay away from rivers and drains, and refrain from stepping out of their homes unnecessarily. The extreme weather has not only disrupted daily life in the city but has also brought operations at the Lucknow Airport to a halt.

According to the Meteorological Department, this heavy spell of rain is expected to persist, with its impact likely to continue until September 27.
