A major tragedy was narrowly averted in the Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh when a small training aircraft crash-landed in an open field near a highway. The incident occurred when a Cessna 152 aircraft, bearing the registration VT-AFB and belonging to Aligarh-based Chetak Aviation, lost control mid-air.

The Incident: According to eyewitnesses, the aircraft was flying over the area when it suddenly became unbalanced and got entangled in overhead high-tension electricity wires. It eventually crash-landed in an agricultural field alongside an under-construction six-lane highway.

Pilot's Status: The two-seater aircraft was being flown solo by a female trainee pilot. Fortunately, she survived the terrifying crash. She sustained minor injuries and was immediately rushed to the district hospital for first aid before being referred for further medical observation. Authorities have confirmed that she is completely out of danger.

Investigation Underway: Local residents rushed to the spot to help before the police and administrative officials arrived and secured the wreckage. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered a formal probe to ascertain the exact cause of the crash, including whether it was due to a technical snag or other operational factors.
