Bigg Boss winner Elvish Yadav has been booked by the Noida Police, and five people have been arrested for the alleged use of snake venom at rave parties, officials said on Friday.
Nine snakes, including cobras, were rescued from the possession of those arrested, who had come to a banquet hall in Sector 51 on Thursday for a rave party organized by animal rights group People for Animals (PFA) as a trap. Police seized 20 millilitres of snake venom stored in a plastic bottle from the possession of the accused and sent it for testing to determine if it is psychotropic and can induce a party drug-like effect in the human body.
The five people arrested for using snake venom at rave parties have been identified as Rahul (32), Teetunath (45), Jaikaran (50), Narayan (50), and Ravinath (45). All of them are residents of Moharband village in southeast Delhi's Badarpur
An FIR was filed under the Wildlife (Protection) Act for criminal conspiracy after Gaurav Gupta of PFA, which is run by BJP parliamentarian Maneka Gandhi, filed a complaint against six people, including Elvish Yadav.
The regulation of drugs, which encompasses substances derived from snake venom and other controlled substances, falls under the jurisdiction of the 1985 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). An official has stated that the NDPS Act has not been applied in this particular case, as no drugs were discovered at the scene of the incident.
During questioning, the five accused also alleged that they supplied snake venom at the rave parties that were allegedly organized by them. Elvish Yadav.
The trap was laid by PFA member Gaurav Gupta, who in his complaint claimed that he had reached out to Mr Yadav for the supply of snake venom.
As per NDTV report, DCP Noida (as in-charge) Ram Badan Singh stated, "In his complaint, Gaurav Gupta claimed he had contacted Elvish Yadav for a rave party and to arrange snakes. Gupta was then given a phone number after which these people (accused), including snake charmers were called."
Elvish Yadav, who recently emerged as the winner of 'Big Boss OTT has denied all allegations and termed them as baseless and fake. He shared a post regarding the incident on his social media account, check below.
