Delhi Hit-and-Run: On-Duty Traffic Cop Killed While Curbing Speeding at Singhu Border

In a tragic hit-and-run incident in outer-north Delhi, a 34-year-old Delhi Traffic Police Head Constable lost his life while in the line of duty. Head Constable Amit was struck by a speeding car near the Singhu Border on National Highway-44 while setting up a speed-monitoring device to check traffic violations.

• The Incident: Head Constable Amit, attached to the Narela Traffic Circle, was deploying speed enforcement equipment along the roadside when a speeding vehicle mowed him down from behind.

• Medical Emergency: His colleagues immediately rushed him to Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital in Narela, where he tragically succumbed to his grievous injuries during treatment.

• Swift Police Action: The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. However, Delhi Police launched a rapid investigation, scanning multiple CCTV footages and gathering technical evidence along the highway.

• Accused Arrested: Within just a few hours of the incident, police tracked down the vehicle and arrested two occupants, identified as Kuldeep (alias Karan) and Neeraj. The vehicle involved in the collision has been seized, and a detailed investigation is underway.
