June 21: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed an urgent appeal in the Delhi High Court contesting the trial court's bail decision in a money laundering case involving a now-cancelled excise policy, thereby halting the release of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The Delhi High Court decided to consider the ED's plea for an urgent hearing on its appeal contesting the trial court's decision to grant Kejriwal bail.
On June 20, the Chief Minister of the AAP was granted bail. A ₹1 lakh bail bond was granted by the Rouse Avenue Court. But before giving Kejriwal the respite, the court placed several requirements on him. He was instructed not to attempt to disrupt the inquiry or sway the witnesses. In addition, the judge had ordered Kejriwal to assist with the inquiry and show up in court as and when needed.
