Delhi: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam themed, 42nd International Trade Fair 2023 inaugurated at Pragati Maidan

On Tuesday, The 42nd India International Trade Fair commenced at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Minister of State Anupriya Patel and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash presided over the event. 

In her inaugural speech, Minister Anupriya Patel highlighted the confidence of the world in India with over 3,500 exhibitors. Emphasising India's attractiveness for investment, she mentioned the government's policy interventions over the last decade. 

The fair plays a crucial role in creating awareness of social issues and fostering business transactions, joint ventures, and investment opportunities, she added.

The theme of the Fourteen-Day IIFT is, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," that underscores interconnectedness and cooperation in trade while reflecting ancient Indian philosophy's emphasis on sustainable growth.

IITF serves as a prime platform to exhibit Indian products, injecting renewed confidence and vitality into the Indian economy. 

Spanning an expansive 110,000 square metres, IITF 2023 hosts nearly 3,500 exhibitors from India and abroad, with Bihar and Kerala as Partner States and Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh as Focus States. In total, 28 states and Union territories actively participate.

Representatives from 13 countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Oman, Egypt, Nepal, Thailand, Turkiye, Vietnam, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Iran, and the UAE, join the event. State Day Celebrations, seminars, and cultural programs are additional highlights.

46 Central ministries/commodity boards/PSUs, such as KVIC, Department of Income Tax, and RBI, will showcase sector achievements.

ITPO has made extensive efforts to enhance the overall experience, introducing new halls, facilities, and green areas.The venue aims to be plastic-free, encouraging environment-friendly substitutes.

The fair operates from 10 A.M. to 7.30 PM, expecting a footfall of 10,00,000 plus during the 14-day duration. The first five days cater to the business category, Fair will be open to the general public from the 19th of the month.

Tickets are available online and offline at selected metro stations. Entry is free for Divyang and senior citizens. Entry inside is from Gate No.4,6 & 10. Visitors can park in Basement 1, with entry accessible via Bhairon Mandir Marg.
