In a shocking incident from Bhadohi village, 55-year-old Dalit watchman Jaysingh Saroj was allegedly doused in petrol and set ablaze after a heated argument with the village head over a faulty handpump.

The village head's son, Kamlesh Yadav, reportedly brought the petrol can and ignited him.

Villagers tried to douse the flames with blankets, but Saroj suffered over 80% burns and is critical at BHU Trauma Center.

Police have arrested the accused and launched an investigation.
