A tragic incident in Sihi village, Faridabad, has claimed the life of a three-year-old girl named Neha after she fell into an abandoned, uncovered borewell while playing.

A joint multi-agency rescue operation involving the NDRF, SDRF, Haryana Fire Services, and local administration stretched across ten harrowing hours through the night. Rescuers faced severe hurdles, including groundwater at 125 feet and the toddler being trapped upside down near a depth of 200 feet.

After fabricating an improvised retrieval tool on site with the help of a local mechanic, teams managed to pull the child out at around 4 AM. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical staff declared her brought dead.

The heartbreaking loss has ignited fierce public backlash over administrative negligence, as the municipal borewell had been left disused for years with its protective cover missing.
