10 KG Gold Robbery at Reliance Jewelery showroom, Samastipur

Samastipur, Bihar: Miscreants looted Rs 8 crore from Reliance Jewelers showroom in Samastipur. The criminals had fled after filling more than 10 kg of jewellery in two bags. The criminals had asked the guard to give the measurement of the ring. Police are conducting raids in Barh-Patna and Begusarai to catch the criminals.

Mofussil police registered an FIR in the robbery case late on Friday night. A case has been registered on the statement of showroom manager Dilip Kumar Giri.

According to the FIR, on the night of February 28, the miscreants looted 10237.563 grams (gold-diamond jewellery), Rs 1.41 lakh from the counter and Rs 6 lakh from the customer with the help of weapons. The entire incident was carried out in 15 minutes. The value of the gold and diamond jewellery is estimated to be around Rs 8 crore. The miscreants had taken away the jewellery in two bags. The matter is of Mohanpur Road of the city.

 

The state STF team along with the district police has conducted raids in many police station areas of Samastipur as well as Barh, Patna and Begusarai to catch the robbers. However, the police have not been successful so far. DIG Babu Ram has said that the gang involved in this incident has been traced. The matter will be revealed soon.

During this time all the criminals had taken out their weapons and pushed the guard down. The number of miscreants was 8. Out of which 3 were wearing masks, caps and mufflers, while 5 had their faces uncovered. In the FIR lodged, it has been said that at the time when the miscreants entered the showroom, apart from 13 staff, 2 customers were sitting in the showroom. They took everyone at gunpoint and forced them into the dining room.

They broke the glass with the butt of the pistol, took out the jewellery and started putting it in the bag. The miscreants had brought three bags. While filling the jewellery in two bags and leaving the showroom. All the miscreants fled towards Mohanpur's south direction.

 

The miscreants had left the weapon and bullets

While escaping, the miscreants also lost a country-made revolver along with three bullets and a magazine. Which was later recovered by the police. After the incident, the police had said that the looted jewellery would be worth Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 crore. However, the price of jewellery was expected to continue increasing.
