Farmers Resume 'Dilli Chalo' March: Thousands March on Foot Towards National Capital

The farmers' agitation has entered a renewed phase as thousands of protesting farmers once again initiated their 'Dilli Chalo' (March to Delhi) movement. Advancing from the Shambhu and Khanauri borders along the Haryana-Punjab boundary, groups of farmers have begun marching on foot towards the national capital to press the government on their long-standing demands.

Key Highlights of the Movement:

• Peaceful Foot March: Addressing the media and protesting crowds, senior farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher emphasized that the foot march will remain entirely peaceful. He clarified that the farmers intend to avoid any clash or confrontation with law enforcement and security forces along the highway.

• Core Demands: The primary contention remains the enactment of a comprehensive law ensuring a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) across all crops, alongside debt waivers, pensions for farmers and farm laborers, and the withdrawal of police cases from previous agrarian agitations.

• Heavy Security & Ground Visuals: Aerial drone footage and ground reports from the border points reveal massive gatherings of farmers and extensive security arrangements, including multi-layered barricades and police deployments to monitor the movement along national highways connecting to Delhi.

With the farmers firmly asserting that their agitation will not cease until their demands are formally met, authorities remain on high alert across the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR).
