A workplace incident in India has sparked debate on menstrual health and empathy at work.
A woman employee reportedly resigned after her manager dismissed her menstrual pain and questioned her need for sick leave.
Despite taking only three sick days in three months, she was allegedly told to “increase her pain tolerance” and was compared to the manager’s wife.
The continued pressure and lack of understanding led her to quit, reigniting discussions on workplace sensitivity, menstrual health awareness, and the absence of clear menstrual leave policies in India.
