Adani Enterprises considers stake sale in Wilmar International, says report

Adani Enterprises plans to sell a 44 per cent stake in Adani Wilmar and with this, the company may be demerged from Joint Venture Wilmar International Limited of Singapore. People with knowledge of the matter have been informed about Adani Group's company Adani Enterprises' plan to sell a 44 per cent stake in Adani Wilmar. According to the report, Adani Enterprises has been considering selling its 44% ownership in Adani Wilmar for a few months. The Adani family might keep small ownership personally even after the sale, as mentioned in a Bloomberg report.

This year, the shares of Adani Wilmar have seen a decline of about 36 per cent and its value has come down to $ 6.2 billion. Keep in mind that in January this year, American short seller firm Hindenburg Research made allegations of fraud and market manipulation against Gautam Adani's Adani Group, after which the market value of Adani Group had decreased by $ 150 billion at one time.
