The Israeli cyber intelligence firm Hudson Rock has reported a new data breach in the latest installment of the ongoing "Twitter Saga."
According to Hudson Rock, a hacker allegedly stole personal information of nearly 400 million Twitter users and sold it on the dark web.
The stolen data contains a staggering amount of information, including prominent users' email addresses and phone numbers.
The hacker belongs to the data breach forum Ryushi. Images of the Twitter post in which the hacker detailed the data theft have been shared by Hudson Rock.
The leaked materials include mentions of WHO, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and American artist Charlie Puth. However, the hacker stated that he would collaborate with any middleman.
"I am selling data of +400 million unique Twitter users that was scrapped via a vulnerability, this data is completely private," the hacker wrote in his post.
the hacker said that the "Twitter or Elon Musk, if you are reading this post, you are already at risk of GDPR fines for the data leak of over 54 million users. Now fines for data leaks of 400 million users."
"Your best option to avoid paying $2.76 million in CDPR breach fines like Facebook did (due to 533 million users being scrapped) is to buy this data exclusively," it further added. In addition to it, he said, "I will remove this thread & will not sell this information again."
