The Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) World Championship 2024 wrapped up this week, delivering an action-packed spectacle that kept esports fans on the edge of their seats. Organized by Activision and ESL Snapdragon Pro Series, the annual championship brought together the world’s best players in a thrilling display of skill, strategy, and teamwork. With fierce competition across multiple regions, this year’s tournament proved once again why Call of Duty Mobile remains a staple in the esports scene.
Tournament Format
The 2024 edition of the CODM World Championship followed a two-stage format: the Swiss Stage and the Playoffs.
The Swiss Stage saw teams from around the world battling through a series of round-robin matches. In this stage, teams were randomly paired in the first round based on pre-determined pools. Subsequent rounds were based on each team's win-loss record, ensuring balanced matchups. Teams that secured three wins advanced to the Playoffs, while those with three losses were eliminated, making every match a crucial test of endurance and skill.
Following the Swiss Stage, the best teams entered the Playoffs, a single-elimination bracket where every match could be a team’s last. All Playoff matches, except the Grand Final, were best-of-five series. The Grand Final itself was a high-stakes best-of-seven showdown. Teams competed in modes like Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control, with the map pool rotating throughout the rounds, adding variety and keeping teams on their toes.
Prize Pool and Winners
The prize pool for the championship was an impressive $1,000,000, divided among the top 16 teams in a tiered manner.
The champions of 2024 were Team Elevate, who walked away with the grand prize of $400,000. The team from the Philippines, featuring players kLo, KenDy, Yop1, Peejay, and Susanoo, led by Coach Olea, dominated the tournament and claimed victory in the Grand Final with a clean 4-0 sweep over Qing Jiu Club (Q9).

Q9, the runner-up, earned $170,000 for their remarkable run in the tournament, while Team XROCK and Galorys Company secured third and fourth places respectively, each taking home $80,000.
The remaining prize pool was distributed among teams finishing between 5th and 16th places, including notable squads like GodLike, Stalwart, Wolves, and Tribe Gaming.
Indian Teams: A Fighting Spirit
India had a strong presence at this year’s championship, with Team GodLike and Team Vitality representing the country on the global stage. GodLike especially made waves when they knocked out Tribe Gaming, a top-tier team. However, their run ended in the quarterfinals after a hard-fought match against Team XROCK. While they didn’t make it to the final rounds, their performance reinforced India’s growing stature in the CODM esports scene.
