The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) have customarily announced five teams for the inaugural edition of women’s IPL naming it Women’s Premier League (WPL) on Wednesday.
- Ahmedabad bid winner - Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd - INR 1289 CR
- Mumbai bid winner - Indiawin Sports Pvt Ltd - INR 912.99 CR
- Bengaluru bid winner- Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd - INR 901 CR
- Delhi bid Winner - JSW Cricket Pvt Ltd - INR 801 CR
- Lucknow bid winner - Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd - NR 757 CR
These are the respective 5 teams who will participate in the first-ever edition of the women's premier league.
The Adani group went all in for owning the Ahmedabad-based women's franchise at a whopping sum of 1289 CR.
5 out of the 10 IPL franchises have ownership of Women's teams now.
7 of them were on the hunt to bid for the franchises.
BCCI certainly has shown a solid approach by introducing Women's IPL which is predicted to be a revolutionary change in women's cricket in the coming years
