Women's IPL Owners Announced

The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) have customarily announced five teams for the inaugural edition of women’s IPL naming it Women’s Premier League (WPL) on Wednesday.

WIPL teams announced

  • Ahmedabad bid winner - Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd - INR 1289 CR
  • Mumbai bid winner - Indiawin Sports Pvt Ltd - INR 912.99 CR
  • Bengaluru bid winner- Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd - INR 901 CR
  • Delhi bid Winner - JSW Cricket Pvt Ltd - INR 801 CR
  • Lucknow bid winner - Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd - NR 757 CR

These are the respective 5 teams who will participate in the first-ever edition of the women's premier league.

The Adani group went all in for owning the Ahmedabad-based women's franchise at a whopping sum of 1289 CR.

5 out of the 10 IPL franchises have ownership of Women's teams now.

WIPL teams announced

7 of them were on the hunt to bid for the franchises.

BCCI certainly has shown a solid approach by introducing Women's IPL which is predicted to be a revolutionary change in women's cricket in the coming years
