Hayley Matthews, captain of the West Indies, won the toss and chose to bat against India in Cape Town. India will be eager to continue their winning streak against West Indies after defeating Pakistan. In spite of the absence of vice captain Smriti Mandhana, the Indian batsmen were able to win against Pakistan and complete their most successful chase in the T20 World Cup.
Mandhana returned to the team against the West Indies after missing the match against Pakistan because of a finger injury. This is expected to boost the team's confidence. Meanwhile, the Windies have just suffered a significant defeat against England. As a result, India will gain from the beginning.
Karishma Ramharack has been added in place of Zaida James for the West Indies, who lost their tournament opener to England. Smriti Mandhana and Devika Vaidya have taken their places in place of Yastika Bhatia and Harleen Deol in India.
