The Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2023 saw India women defeat Thailand women handily in their opening game. They won the one-sided game 7-1, which gave them a fantastic start to the season.There were five different goal scorers for India in the match: Monika, Salima Tete, Deepika, and Lalremsiami. Sangita Kumari, however, took the stage with a hat-trick.
India took the lead in the seventh minute through a field goal from Monika. Tete Salima converted the penalty corner in the fifteenth minute, swiftly extending the lead.In the 22nd minute, Samanso Supansa scored from a penalty corner to give Thailand a chance to tie the game.After that goal, India never gave Thailand a chance, as they took a two-goal lead again in the 29th minute thanks to a field goal by Kumari Sangita.
Deepika was on the scoreboard in the forty-first minute after making a field goal. Subsequently, in the forty-fifth minute, Kumari Sangita went on a scoring binge, completing her hat-trick with two goals.In the 52nd minute, Lalremsiami added another field goal to make the score 7-1, but the Indian team didn't let up.
