India is represented by Eramma, a 22-year-old Tennis player in the Special Olympics World Summer Games, 2023 Berlin. She hails from a small village calledTranagar in the Bellary district of Karnataka. She is from a farming background, but a sports enthusiast from a young age. She was born with a congenital mute and deaf impairment. Ultimately communication was a constant problem that she faced every day.
Despite all these difficulties, she spent most of her time playing around, from where her actual interest in table tennis had been ignited. She studied at the Tamanna School of Toranagallu, which was a school established to help underrepresented communities.
In World games, she represents India, playing singles and women’s doubles as well. Three other Indian players represent in the World Games too, who are from Kerala, Delhi, and Haryana respectively.
