Virat Kohli Presents Special Gift to Glenn Maxwell post Australia's Sixth Victory in World Cup

With Indian Fans’ hearts getting scattered after Australia lift the trophy of the ICC Men World Cup 2023, and defeating ‘Unbeatable’ India, Fans were still thrilled to see Royal Challengers Bangalore Teammates Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell shared a Beautiful and unique Moment in yesterday’s game.

After the 2023 World Cup final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, Virat Kohli, the star Indian batsman, gifted his jersey with his signature to the Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. They both met each other, handshaked and shared an emotional hug after the match, keeping the sportsmanship alive while strengthening their bond.

About the match, Australia, chasing an easy target of 241 runs, delivered an electric performance. Despite losing early wickets, David Warner (7 runs), Mitchell Marsh (15 runs), and Steve Smith (4 runs), Travis Head's outstanding century of 137 runs played a crucial role in Australia's World Cup glory for the sixth time with the help of Marnus Labuschagne (58) at the other side of the pitch. In bowling, Australia's Mitchell Starc excelled with 3/55, while Cummins and Hazlewood also impressed.

Indian players were spotted with teary eyes and shattered dreams after their loss. India failed to reach the 300-run mark and was eventually dismissed for 240 runs along with Bowlers taking mere 3 wickets. India, the team that remained undefeated throughout the campaign, lost their second World Cup final against the Australians. They previously faced defeat against Australia in the 2003 World Cup final

Kohli suffered an unfortunate dismissal at the hands of skipper Pat Cummins. While trying to defend the ball, an inside edge went directly onto the stumps, marking the end of Kohli's innings. Captain Rohit Sharma faced dismissal before his half century at 47 in 31 balls and KL Rahul  scored a half century (66 runs in 107 balls) at yesterday’s match. However, throughout the entire world cup campaign, Virat Kohli's consistent efforts were highlighted as he achieved 50-plus scores along with efforts of Rohit Sharma, Kl Rahul, Bumrah and Shami. 

Virat Kohli was named Player of the Tournament at the 2023 World Cup. He scored 765 runs with an average of 95.62, completing 50 ODI tons and breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record for most runs in a single World Cup. Kohli's remarkable batting consistency, crossing 50 runs in nine out of 11 innings, earned him the award.

The two World Cup finalists are scheduled to compete in a five-match T20I series starting this Thursday in Visakhapatnam.
