Proteas dominate India

In a role reversal from the first ODI, South Africa dominated the visitors and beat them by eight wickets. After opting to field first, the Proteas never allowed India to dictate terms. Despite half-centuries from Sai Sudharsan and KL Rahul, India struggled to get support from the rest of the team. They managed to score only 211 runs in 46.2 overs.

Nandre Burger was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa, accounting for the wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma, and KL Rahul. He finished with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 30 runs in his 10 overs. Burger's performance played a crucial role in restricting India to a low total.

De Zorzi's magnificent century

In the chase, Tony de Zorzi and Reeza Hendricks provided a cautious start for South Africa, scoring 39 runs in the first 10 overs. However, De Zorzi took charge and became the aggressor in the partnership. Both batsmen reached their fifties and put on a record-breaking opening partnership of 130 runs in Port Elizabeth. De Zorzi continued his fine form and quickly reached his maiden hundred off just 109 balls. Rassie van der Dussen also played a crucial role in the chase, making amends for his duck in the first ODI.

With De Zorzi and Van der Dussen's partnership, South Africa got close to the target before Rinku Singh got the wicket of Van der Dussen. However, De Zorzi finished the game off with a six to seal the deal and level the series for the home side. The series decider between South Africa and India will take place on December 21.

Tony de Zorzi's magnificent century and Nandre Burger's impressive bowling performance propelled South Africa to a convincing victory against India in the second ODI. The Proteas dominated the visitors and levelled the series. The third and final ODI will determine the winner of the series.
