In Hangzhou on Day 4 of the current Asian Games 2023, Indian shooters broke out in a riot as Sift Kaur Samra broke a world record. In the women's 50m rifle 3 positions solo event on Wednesday, Sift won gold and broke the world, Asian, and Asian Games records. In the same competition, Ashi Chouksey won bronze. As India took silver in the women's team 50m rifle 3 positions event, Ashi, Manini Kaushik, and Sift all shone.
Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan astonished their opponents with an incredible performance to help India win gold in the women's 25-metre pistol team competition as well. Bhaker also won qualification in the women's 25-metre pistol competition, finishing ahead of Esha in fifth and Rhythm in seventh. In the men's skeet-50 team competition, India also won bronze.
After China's Rui Liu, who also set a new Asian Games record, Esha Singh took home the silver medal in the 25-metre women's pistol final. Manu Bhaker, meanwhile, came in fifth place. The Indian women's hockey team opened its season with a commanding 13-0 victory over Singapore in Pool A.
In contrast, Rohit Jadhav placed ninth in the Wushu men's Daoshu final. Nina Venkatesh, a swimmer, came in 14th place in the women's 100-metre butterfly heats but was unable to advance to the final. If we switch to boxing, we'll see three fighters in action, including Nikhat Zareen. Roshibina Devi, who is already guaranteed a bronze medal in the women's 60 kg category, will want to do even better.
