Steve Smith is all set to replace David Warner as Australia’s test opener.

Steve Smith is all set to open the batting alongside Usman Khawaja succeeding David Warner in the upcoming two-match series against West Indies.

 

Chief selector Geroge Bailey confirmed that Cameron Green will be a part of the playing 11 and he would batting at the number 4 slot. He also mentioned that Steve Smith is all set to move up the order ad bat alongside Usman Khawaja after David Warner announced his retirement.

Matt Renshaw received a call up from the Australian selectors while Cameron Bancroft is all set to miss this upcoming series. Matt Renshaw comes as a replacement for the opening batter, David Warner.

 

This series is all set to begin at Adelaide Oval on January 17th before they move to Gabba in Brisbane from January 25th.

 

Cricket Australia has also named their squad for the three-match ODI series. Steve Smith is all set to captain the side while Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh are absent from this series. Prominent player, Marcus Stoinis who was a part of Australia’s World Cup squad also misses out.
