The one and only ‘Dada’ in the Indian cricket team, Saurav Ganguly, celebrates his 51st birthday today on 8 July. All time known as ‘god of offside’, Saurav Ganguly shared a wonderful memory of his entire cricket career of more than 16 years on his social media.
Here is his outstanding record of cricket on the occasion of his birthday.
- He played 113 tests, 311 One Day Internationals, 437 list A, 77 T20s etc. with 7212 runs in Tests and 11363 runs in ODIs.
- He has scored 3 centuries in the ICC Championship Trophy and became the first one to do that.
- He is the one who won 4 consecutive man of the match in ODI, 1997 in the Sahara Cup between India and Pakistan.
- He has the highest score in the 99’s World Cup against Sri Lanka. In that match, he and Dravid became one of 5 pairs to cross a 300 run partnership.
- With 11363 runs, he became the number ninth player who scored such a high run and the third highest Indian to score this much.
During his captaincy, India did a really good job. He is one of the most successful captains in Indian cricket history with 11 international wins. His leadership skills are really appreciable. That time, his openness made his team members approach him easily. This legend retired in 2008, saying goodbye to the ground, but is still connected to it.
