Sindhu advances to Quarters, Srikanth & George bid farewell at Arctic Open

PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Arctic Open Super 500 badminton tournament's women's singles event in Vantaa.

Seeded eighth, Sindhu swiftly defeated Wen Chi Hsu from Chinese Taipei with a score of 21-11, 21-10 in just 38 minutes. Her next opponent is Thuy Linh Nguyen of Vietnam.

Unfortunately, Kidambi Srikanth's journey in the men's singles event came to an end when he lost to Japan's seventh seed Kanta Tsuneyama with a score of 15-21, 12-21. Kiran George also exited the tournament after losing to China's fourth seed Lu Guang Zu, with scores of 10-21, 20-22.

In contrast, Aakarshi Kashyap continued to represent India in the women's singles event and is set to face China's fifth-seeded Wang Zhi Yi later in the day.

However, India's sole women's doubles pair, Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa, couldn't advance to the quarterfinals, as they were defeated by the French duo of Margot Lambert and Anne Tran with scores of 19-21, 19-21.
