Ruturaj Gaikwad not playing WTC - what's the reason?

After the end of IPL this season, everyone is eagerly waiting for the World Test Championship which is starting from 7th June till 11th June. For this WTC final between India and Australia, the Indian team will be playing under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in the UK. Along with Kohli, Jadeja, Gill, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, Unadkat and other remaining players, there will be 3 standby players who will be going to London. Opening batsman of Chennai Super Kings, Ruturaj Gaikwad, was on the list of these standby players. But now, the BCCI has replaced him with a fantastic, emerging player of this IPL season, also the opening batsman of Rajasthan Royals, Yashasvi Jaiswal.

After winning the IPL 2023 trophy, Ruturaj Gaikwad shared a post on social media with M. S. Dhoni and a girl with a caption saying, “Very very important persons of my life.” Through that post it was cleared that Ruturaj is in a relationship with that girl. But yes, he confirmed his unavailability to BCCI for WTC due to his marriage. Ruturaj is getting married on 3rd of June. He will be tying knot with Utkarsha Pawar. Their Mehandi ceremony was held on 1st of June.

Well, fans are not very happy with his absence from WTC.
