Rahul-Kohli Power: India triumphs over Australia in opening match

India kicked off their World Cup 2023 journey with a 6-wicket victory over Australia at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk). Although they faced a shaky start with the loss of three wickets in the first two overs, the remarkable 165-run partnership between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul turned the game around. Virat Kohli scored 85 runs off 116 balls before his dismissal in the 37th over. KL Rahul, on the other hand, hammered 97 runs off 115 balls, including the match-winning six, earning him the title of Man of the Match.

On the bowling side, Jadeja took three wickets for just 28 runs, while Bumrah and Yadav took 2 wickets each, giving 35 and 42 runs respectively.

India won their inaugural World Cup 2023 match, cricket fans are elated and are taking to social media to celebrate the  Men in Blue's win over Australia.

India will play their next World Cup match on October 11 when they face Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After that, the Men in Blue have a highly anticipated match against Pakistan on the 14th of October at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
