Rahane set new record: first Indian to hit half century in WTC finals

Returning to the test series after one and a half years, Ajinkya Rahane proved his excellence in the game by hitting 50. In this India VS Australia World Test Championship final, when there is a lead of almost 300 runs, India needed to play well to win. Well, on day 2 when all the first four players, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubhman Gill had weak scores, the number fifth player Ajinkya Rahane somehow managed to score well.

Ajinkya Rahane scored 71, hit boundaries and sixes on the bowling of Pat Cummins. His partnership with Jadeja turned out to be great and India managed to cross 150 on day 2. With his stunning half century, Ajinkya Rahane set a record of being the first Indian to score a half century in the WTC finals. And also 5000 runs were added to his account as part of the runs scored for India in the Tests.
