Highlights of Pakistan vs. Bangladesh, World Cup 2023: On Tuesday, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets to eliminate them from the ODI World Cup.
After dismissing Bangladesh for 204 runs, the defending champions came back to surpass the goal, reaching 205 for 3 in 32.3 Overs to claim their third victory of the competition.
The opening stand by Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman enabled Pakistan to win their third game on Tuesday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Because of their 128-run opening partnership, Bangladeshi bowlers were unable to put any pressure on their defense. The only three wickets Bangladesh could take were from Mehidy. Pakistan's victory keeps them in the running for a top four finish, but Bangladesh's fate is all but sealed.
Opting to bat, Mahmudullah made a 70-ball 56 but Bangladesh couldn't get any momentum as they lost wickets regularly.
Litton Das (45), Mahmudullah (56), Shakib Al Hasan (43), and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (25) were the other batters to reach double figures.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi (3/23) and Mohammad Wasim Jr (3/31) were the most successful bowlers with three-wicket hauls, while Haris Rauf (2/36), Iftikhar Ahmed (1/44) and Usama Mir (1/66) were also among wickets.
