The biggest hotel chain in India, OYO Hotels, has stated that 500 new hotels will be added in the cities hosting the forthcoming ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2023. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Rajkot, and Surat are just a few of the ten Indian cities where the hotels will be dispersed. With a variety of services to meet the needs of cricket fans from across the world, the hotels will be available at a range of price points, from affordable to luxurious.
OYO said these hotels would help meet World Cup lodging demand. Because the tournament is expected to lure over 1.5 million people to India, OYO said its hotels will offer convenient and enjoyable stays.
OYO aims to provide comfortable and affordable accommodations for fans travelling to support their favourite teams. The company has witnessed a substantial increase in demand for the tournament period and has noticed a rise in hotel rates in host cities three months ahead of time. OYO is actively working with local authorities to ensure compliance with safety and security regulations across all its properties.
The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup will take place in India from October 5 to November 19, 2023. For the first time since 2011, the tournament will take place in India for the 13th time overall.
As a result of a significant rise in demand for homestays in locations like Ahmedabad, Dharamshala, and other significant metros, online travel services operator MakeMyTrip has created a method in which residents of the host cities are asked to list their properties on its platform.
To help cricket fans book the most suitable accommodation option, MakeMyTrip has developed a new feature that shows the distance between accommodations and cricket stadiums in cities.
