After India refused to visit Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023 due to security reasons, this time Pakistan put a condition saying “Pakistan won’t be playing in Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.” Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairperson Najam Sethi informed Greg Barclay, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Pakistani players won’t play in Ahmedabad unless and until its World Cup final. Instead of Ahmedabad, PCB requested to schedule their matches in Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.
After requesting the ICC, Pakistan mentioned that it would fly to India for the WC event in November. Only the Pakistani government allows them to do so. The ICC authorities put their opinion that Pakistan has the ability to host the Championship Trophy 2025 when they traveled to Lahore.
A decision has been pending about the Asia Cup and the World Cup as the BCCI and PCB both have their own condition.
