5-time IPL winners and the most successful franchise in the league’s history, Mumbai Indians, have once again qualified for the IPL playoffs. In the 63rd match of the IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians humiliated Delhi Capitals and won the much-anticipated virtual knockout match by 59 runs. This match has given us all the 4 teams who will be fighting for the trophy in the playoffs after the league stage matches. Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings, and Mumbai Indians are the four teams out of which one team will be crowned as the Champion on 3rd June,2025. Mumbai Indians the most dangerous side when it comes to playoffs have given all the already qualified teams an ultimatum that they are coming for their 6th trophy and their recent performances have given all the teams something to worry about as Mumbai Indians know it better than all the teams that how you can win an IPL trophy.
‘SKY’ has no limit
Suryakumar Yadav, one of the greatest T20 batsmen of this generation, once again proved why MI has always shown so much trust and faith in their MAIN MAN. SKY played a brilliant innings of 73 off just 43 balls on a difficult Wankhede Pitch and helped his team in putting up a respectable total of 180-5 in this crucial match. He was supported by Tilak Varma in the middle overs, and Naman Dhir provided the much-needed finishing touches to the team. The duo scored 48 runs in the last two overs bowled by Mukesh Kumar and Dushmantha Chameera. SKY, the Indian T20I captain, has been the most consistent player for the Mumbai Indians this season and is one of the main reasons for MI’s brilliant turnaround this season. Mumbai had lost 4 of their first five matches but won 7 out of their next 8 matches and has turned their whole season around by qualifying for the playoffs. SKY has scored 583 runs for MI this season and is their highest run-getter.

Suryakumar Yadav was also awarded the man of the match award, and after receiving it, the India 360-degree player said
‘Its been 13 games now. My wife told me a sweet story today. She said you’ve won all the awards except Mom. This award is special today. From team’s point of view the knock was important and also this trophy is for her. She waits for such moments and we celebrate it obviously,looking forward to it. Was important for a single batter to bat till the end. We knew there was one over of 15-20 runs somewhere so we had to wait till end. The way Naman came in and shared that energy with me was also a turning point.
Delhi Capitals out of the season
Delhi Capitals are now out of the current season. After winning their first four matches things have gone horribly wrong for Delhi and the story was same against MI also as they had put MI under pressure for most of the time in the first innings but the two final overs shifted momentum towards Mumbai Indians and none of the Delhi batter was looking comfortable for even one second whilst batting in the second innings. Delhi Capitals are now out of the season after playing good cricket in the initial part of the tournament and will now be looking to win against Punjab Kings to end this season on a high note.
Both Mi and DC will be facing Punjab Kings in their final league stage matches and Mumbai will be playing for the 2 points so that they can have an outside chance of finishing in the top 2 of the table and afterward they will be looking to go to Ahmedabad to win the trophy wheras DC will look reassess what all went wrong for them this season and they will ne looking to come back stronger next season.
