The Women's Premier League victory for the Delhi Capitals was another fantastic one. They triumphed by 25 runs over the faltering Gujarat Giants. Right now, they are above the table.
The first few overs were good for Delhi, thanks to Lanning, Shafali Verma, and Alice Capsey. But in the middle overs, they lost their way and lost 163/8. But it was their bowlers who really stood out that day. Meghna Singh took four key wickets to lead the way.
Chase by Gujarat
Gujarat never got off the ground in their chase. There was no way for them to beat Delhi's score, as they could only get to 138/8 in 20 overs. And even though she scored 40 off of 31 balls, it wasn't enough to save her team from another loss. It was hard for Gujarat to bat because of Ravha Yadav and Jess Jonassen, two spin bowlers who took six wickets between them.
Gujarat's captain said that their team wasn't good enough to play Delhi because they had problems both at bat and on defence. It was easy for the Giants to catch the passes, but they dropped them and missed. They are going to try to do better in their next games.
At the end
Delhi is one of the best teams in the WPL because they have won all of their games in a row and are now in first place in the table. Gujarat needs to get back together and play better in their next game so they don't fall even further behind.
