Man United comfortably secures a 2-0 victory against Wigan in the FA Cup

In the fourth round of the FA Cup, Manchester United beat Wigan Athletic 2-0 at DW Stadium on a cold night. The win was a much-needed breath of fresh air for the failing Premier League team, which is now seventh in the league and out of the NFL Cup and Europe. Within 22 minutes, Diogo Dalot scored the first goal. In the 74th minute, Bruno Fernandes' penalty kick sealed the win.

Manchester United's job is done

Manchester United's manager, Erik ten Hag, was pleased with the result, saying that winning and finishing the job are the key goals of the FA Cup. After beating Eastleigh F.C. in the third round, the team will now play Newport County, the winners of the replay.

Fernandes and Dalot are brilliant

Danilo's goal in the 22nd minute gave United a much-needed confidence boost. Within 18 yards, the Portuguese player took a touch and then hit the bottom part of the net. Lingard made a mistake in the box, and Fernandes scored a penalty in the 74th minute to make United's lead bigger.

Chances Lost

Even with the win, United missed numerous opportunities to score more goals. Ten Hag acknowledged that they ought to have seized more of the chances they had, particularly during the first half when they had produced five or six excellent possibilities. Specifically, Marcus Rashford had eight shots on goal but was unable to score.

The Attempts of Wigan

League One team Wigan gave it their all against United, but they were ultimately outclassed. Shaun Maloney, the squad manager, was proud of his players and said the game was a challenging but amazing experience for his group.
