KL Rahul demoted by BCCI

KL Due to recent run-related issues, Rahul has been demoted to Grade B. Rahul was relieved of his vice-captaincy in white-ball cricket and removed from the starting lineup for the last two games against Australia. He might not even be included in the World Test Championship starting squad.
Axar Patel was elevated to the A category as the BCCI issued the yearly contracts on Sunday, but famed all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja received the prized grade A plus retainership.
The BCCI awarded retainerships to 26 cricket players in four categories: A plus (Rs 7 crore), A (Rs 5 crore), B (Rs 3 crore), and C. (Rs 3 crore).

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ishant Sharma did not receive contracts (Rs 1 crore). After being promoted to the A category, Axar, a spin all-rounder, had much to be happy about. KS Bharat, a wicketkeeper batter who had been assigned to Group C, also received his first central contract. Along with Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Mohammed Shami, star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who was hurt in a terrible car accident in December of last year, is still in the A category. The six cricketers in Group B were Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill. Bharat is one of 11 players from Group C who will compete in the cricket tournament, along with Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, and Arshdeep Singh.
