KL Rahul brought up 8th magnificent century in the centurion on the second day of the India vs SA Test match.
The innings played by KL showed his determination and composure to the Indian batting lineup. He brought up his 8th Test century in the opening Test match against the Proteas. This was KL Rahul’s second century in tests at this venue. He now has become the first overseas player to achieve this major feat. KL made a fierce 101 in133 balls, showing a mix of defensive shots and attacking shots. He maintained his calmness not only during the first day of the test match but also the second day of the test match.
KL was needed at the crease at a very problematic stage of the innings, India were at 92/4 with Shreyas Iyer just losing his wicket after a strong 68 run stand with Kohli on the crease. It was only after sometime that Kohl too lost his wicket, leaving KL as the only batter in the lineup. He maintained crucial partnerships with his fellow tailenders despite the rapid falling of wickets. KL still showed his perseverance and accelerated the scoreboard to a decent total of 245 runs.
KL brought his century with a massive six in the 67th over against Gerald Coetzee. This was KL Rahul’s second consecutive century at the Centurion. He was unfortunately dismissed for 101 and India were bowled out for a total of 245 in the first innings.
