IPL fined KKR captain Nitish Rana for slow over rate against Punjab Kings. With all the crispy news of the Indian Premier League and fantastic fan base, IPL teams are doing their best this season too. While teams hit fame for their performances, the last match of Kolkata vs. Punjab turned into a bad impression of the team for the audience. Kolkata Knight Riders had a slow over rate while playing with Punjab Kings. For this matter, the IPL cost 12 lakh rupees fine to the captain. As it was their first offence related to the IPL code of conduct, it’s a bare minimum fine.
There is a rule that a 20-over match must be finished within 90 minutes. If that time limit exceeds that, it may be considered as slow over rate.
Though, KKR won last night's match by 5 wickets, securing 182 runs. Rinku Singh always hit his boundary on the last ball. While in the first half, they hardly allowed Punjab Kings to score above 179.
KKR won this match on their home ground and still has a chance to qualify for the match.
