Kane Williamson's World Cup return sparks New Zealand's third win

On Friday, in the ICC World Cup, New Zealand secured their third consecutive victory by defeating Bangladesh with an eight-wicket margin. Bangladesh, batting first, managed to score 245 for nine, which New Zealand successfully chased down with 43 balls remaining. Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell played pivotal roles for New Zealand, contributing 78 and 89 runs, respectively.

Kane Williamson made a stylish return to international cricket, notching up a classy half-century, while Daryl Mitchell powered through with a rapid 67-ball 89. As a result, New Zealand secured a convincing eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup on Friday.

This win marked the Kiwis' third consecutive victory in the tournament, as they comfortably chased down Bangladesh's total of 246.

In his first match of the tournament, following his complete recovery from a knee injury suffered during the IPL in April, along with subsequent surgery, Williamson showcased his cricketing finesse with a methodical and traditional ODI innings. He scored 78 runs from 107 deliveries.

Having secured their third victory in as many matches, New Zealand claimed the leading position in the round-robin table, while Bangladesh, with just one win and two losses, occupied the sixth position.
