Biggest Clash of the year: IPL 2024 vs Lok Sabha Election 2024

The BCCI has released the complete schedule for the ongoing IPL 2024 season. This confirms that the tournament will be held in India, with the final match in Chennai.

The IPL 2024 final will be held at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium on May 26, with the city also hosting the second qualifier on May 24. In addition, the first qualifying and eliminator will both take place on May 21 and May 22, respectively, at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.

Earlier, the BCCI revealed the schedule for the tournament's first two weeks, including 21 matches. The second phase of the IPL schedule, which includes 52 matches and playoffs, begins on April 8. CSK will host Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai for the first game. All playoff matches will take place in the evening.

The IPL 2024, the biggest non-ICC cricket tournament, will align with the most important national event of the year, the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The General Election 2024 will be held in seven phases, from April 19 to June 1. Even after the huge clash, the BCCI will host the entire IPL 2024 in India. The few game venue changes, such as the Punjab Kings moving their home arena to Mullanpur & Dharamshala and Delhi Capitals moving from Delhi to Vishakapatnam, are probably the result of the election.

During the second phase, the Delhi Capitals will play their first two home matches in Visakhapatnam, but the next five will be played at their home stadium, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, where they will be cheered on by their fervent local fans.

The Punjab Kings will wrap up their home games in Dharamsala. The team started the season at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. On May 5 and 9, respectively, PBKS will play two games at the gorgeous venue against the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
