IPL 2024: RCB, CSK, or SRH who has the most playoff qualifying chances?

The IPL 2024 Playoffs race now includes five teams competing for two vacant spots. Two berths have already been secured by Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders. The remaining two berths are up for grabs, with the following five teams competing: Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, SunRisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Lucknow Super Giants. Except for SRH, every other team has one game left. It implies that the final position for the IPL 2024 playoffs will most likely be determined by net run rates.

According to Star Sports, SunRisers Hyderabad has an 87.3 percent chance of qualifying for the IPL 2024. It is significantly higher than Chennai Super Kings (72.7%) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (39.3%). DC has a 0.7 percent probability of qualifying, whilst LSG has a 0.2 percent chance.

Chennai Super Kings

14 points in 13 matches (NRR +0.528) Matches remaining - 1 (vs RCB)

IPL 2024 Playoffs

The Chennai Super Kings, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, have a decent chance. After 13 games, they have 14 points (NRR +0.528). They will be eliminated if they defeat RCB. The defending champions will still be in the league even if they lose to RCB in the last match. After that, they would hope that RCB does not outperform them in NRR. Due to a significantly higher NRR, CSK will still be the favorite to advance even if LSG wins its final game and advances to round 14. To make things easier for themselves, they would also like SRH (14 from 12 games) to lose both of their games.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

14 points in 12 matches (NRR +0.406) Matches remaining - 2 (vs GT and PBKS)

IPL 2024 Playoffs

SRH will qualify for the playoffs if they win their final two matches. They will still advance even if they lose one of their matches. It will all come down to net run rate if they lose both of their games. If SRH loses its next two games and LSG and RCB win their last games, the Pat Cummins-led team's chances of finishing in the top four will be dependent on the NRR. To secure the final playoff spot, CSK will need to defeat RCB while SRH will need to lose both of their games.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

12 points from 13 games (NRR +0.387) Matches remaining - 1 (vs CSK)

IPL 2024 Playoffs

With a winning streak of five games, RCB has significantly improved. After winning just one of their first seven games, they have completely changed as a team. RCB needs to defeat Chennai Super Kings to get 14 points and advance. Then, they would be hoping that their NRR is higher than the other teams competing for the fourth playoff position. They would also want it if LSG doesn't win their final game by a significant margin or if SRH loses both of their remaining games.
