Indian Para Athletes script History with 80 Medals, Including 18 Gold, at Asian Para Games

Indian para-athletes made history on Thursday by carrying home the most medals from the Asian Para Games—80 in total, including 18 gold medals.

India's medal total is 18 gold, 23 silver, and 39 bronze, and it will continue to rise till the competition's fourth day is over.

India has now surpassed the previous record of 72 set in Indonesia during the 2018 tournament.

With two days remaining in the Games, the nation is headed towards its goal of winning 100 medals in this Hangzhou edition.

Prior to the Hangzhou Games, India had the most medals (15 gold, 24 silver, and 33 bronze) at the previous Games in Jakarta.
