India's WTC Final Squad: Rahane returns, KL Rahul in; Iyer & Bumrah Ruled Out

Indian team for World Team Cup final against Australia disclosed: Ajinkya Rahane and KL Rahul are back for the team, while Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah have been ruled out.

With the BCCI announcing a 15-man Indian squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia to be contested at The Oval in England starting on June 7, this year, Ajinkya Rahane returned to the Indian side after an outstanding IPL 2023 performance. KL Rahul, who missed the final two Tests of the Australia series, is also back with the team.

After 15 months, Rahane is back in the Indian team. In January 2022, he made his previous final appearance in the South Africa Test series.

Iyer just underwent back surgery, and it is believed that he will be out of action for some time so he sidelined for a while. Pant, on the other hand, has begun his gradual healing process following a car accident that occurred in December last year. Jasprit Bumrah is also ruled out because of his back injury.

Along with Rahane, veteran pro- KL Rahul made the 15-man roster despite losing his vice-captaincy and spot in the team for the last two Border-Gavaskar Trophy Tests against Australia.

WTC Final Indian Team: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat.
