Australia's batting displayed exceptional skill as Mitchell Marsh delivered a stellar performance with 96 runs, supported by Steve Smith's impressive 74, and helped their team to a formidable total of 352/7.

India's pursuit began early with Rohit Sharma's graceful 81 and Virat Kohli's steady 56. However, the momentum shifted dramatically with Glenn Maxwell's exceptional off-spin display. India finished their innings with a respectable 286/8 points.

The bowlers for both teams played a critical role in determining the outcome of the match, even though the batsmen's performances were obvious. Jasprit Bumrah, the best fast bowler in India, took three wickets for 81 runs in an effort to stop Australia's attack of runs. On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell was the star performer with the ball for Australia, securing a remarkable 4-wicket haul for just 40 runs.

In recognition of their outstanding performances, Shubman Gill was named the Player of the Series, while Glenn Maxwell's all-around brilliance earned him the title of Player of the Match.

This result emphasises the unpredictable nature of one-day international cricket, highlighting the significance of teams' ability to adapt to constantly shifting conditions in the larger context of the World Cup. India's performance demonstrated their tenacity and capacity to compete at the highest level, even in defeat.
