India's women's cricket team beat Australia easily to start their T20I season. On January 5, in Mumbai, Australia lost by nine runs. Meanwhile, Mandhana got 54 runs, and Verma stayed unbeaten with 64 runs. Their opening wicket stand of 137 runs set the stage for India's win. Within her inning, Verma hit six fours and three sixes, and her strike rate stayed close to 150. Mandhana had a good inning, hitting seven fours and one six. Additionally, Jemimah Rodrigues made a contribution by scoring six runs without being out.
After 141 runs, India's bowlers bowled Australia out in 19.2 overs. Pheobe Litchfield scored 49 runs to lead Australia. Shreyanka Patil took two, Toshka Sadhu took four, and Deepti Sharma took one.
January 7 is India-Australia's second T20I. India will want to clinch the series against Australia after their historic Test triumph. To win the T20I series will boost their confidence before the Women's Premier League.
