In the ICC World Cup 2023, England displayed their cricketing supremacy with a commanding 137-run victory over Bangladesh. England was to bat first, and they made a total of 364/9 in 50 overs. Dawid Malan was the star of the innings, smashing a magnificent century. He scored 140 runs off just 107 deliveries, showcasing his extraordinary batting prowess. England's captain, Joe Root, played a crucial role, contributing an impressive 82 runs off 68 balls. His partnership with Malan, which added 151 runs for the second wicket, laid the foundation for England's formidable total. The opening pair of Jonny Bairstow and Malan set a strong foundation with a 115-run partnership for the first wicket. Despite losing wickets towards the end, England's late-order batsmen managed to add 68 runs, with Chris Woakes playing a cameo of 52 (59). Mahedi Hasan Hasan was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, taking four wickets while conceding 71 runs in his eight-over span.

In the second innings, Bangladesh faced a target of 365 runs to win the match. They got off to a shaky start as England's fast bowler Reece Topley caused serious damage in the top order, taking three wickets within the first ten overs. Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim showed resilience with partnerships, scoring 76 and 51 runs, respectively. They briefly steadied the innings. Mushfiqur Rahim was, however, defeated by Topley despite having scored 51 runs in 64 balls. Litton Das maintained his impressive form and scored 76 runs off 66 balls before being bowled out by Chris Woakes.

England's bowlers maintained the pressure throughout the Bangladesh innings. Reece Topley was exceptional, taking four crucial wickets in his stretch. Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid also contributed with crucial wickets. In the end, Bangladesh was eventually bowled out for 227 runs in 48 overs, falling short of England's total by 137 runs.

This match ended, leaving Bangladesh with much to reflect upon as they regroup for their upcoming matches in the tournament. England, on the other hand, has firmly established its presence in the ICC World Cup 2023, making a statement to other participating teams.
