India's next ICC ODI World Cup 2023 encounter against New Zealand is scheduled for Sunday in Dharamsala; however, Hardik Pandya has been ruled out, according to the squad. During India's match versus Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, the vice captain of the team hurt his left ankle while fielding a ball off his own bowling.

In an effort to stop a shot from Litton Das that was coming towards him, Hardik rolled over his left ankle with his right foot. Immediately following the event, the 30-year-old received medical attention on the pitch but was unable to continue. For the remainder of the innings, he didn't field or pitch.

"The all-rounder was given a rest recommendation after being taken for scans following his fall. The BCCI Medical Squad will be watching over him round-the-clock, according to the squad. He will now join the team directly in Lucknow, where India will play England, instead of travelling with the team on the trip to Dharamsala on October 20.
